Hi, Maybe I can throw in something. I am running two S900's here. #1
machine is on Jaguar2.8, 2-80GB ATA HD's G3 500mhz. installed in Oct.
2003. Not a single problem of any kind.

Machine #2 is still SCSI bound with 3-HD's 4 GB, 8 GB and 18 GB. I have
been using a identical USB optical mouse with USB overdrive in both
units. I have never had freezes on #1 in OSX but #2 is 9.1 and has
freezes all the time and I believe the problem is the USB and 9.1 do not
get along well. I have done 2 reinstalls of the OS and same problem.

Since I am so happy with OS Jaguar I have order a new 60 GB ATA Seagate
and will prepare to move this machine up to OSX as soon as all items are
in hand. I have order more ram for both computers and will keep OS 9.1
on the 8 GB HD for any applications that I have that don't run on OSX.
Which by the way are very few.

I suggest you try working with an apple mouse or the Umax mouse and see
if the problem goes away. That is what I did and it indicated that it is
the USB that was the problem. Just my thoughts and results. Everyone
else's results may be different.
