Ron, the drivers worked. I installed Apple's Universal CD ROM Driver 5.3.1
and my CDs work without having to have the System CD in the drive at boot,
however, that driver still does not read Audio CDs, but that's where Apple's
Universal CD ROM Driver 5.3.2 comes in, but, after that, the drive stoped
working again, so I copied the first driver back over to the extensions
folder, and now it's all working (including Audio CDs)..

There is an old Apple Universial CD-ROM extension (5.2.1 from System
7.6) that does work with the clone OEM CD-ROM's and can be downloaded
here:
