Nancy, the CD is damaged, it has many scratches and a half-inch crack on it. As for the hdd, it is formatted it, I used the 8.1 disk tools and ran drive setup on it. I would love to get OS 8.5 or 9, but I don't currently have the money for it, nor do I have a credit card to register on e-bay. I also do not have an old mac to get another drive from, although I wish I did. I'm not sure if I want to try to re-format the hdd anyways as it took over 4 hours to get the System software to install off of the Performa CD due to the CD being so damaged and reading very slowly.
Thanks for the suggestions though. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Haitz" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "SuperMacs List" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 13, 2005 11:55 PM Subject: Re: [SM] c500 won't allow me to install sys 7.5.3 > >> Hotmail wrote: > >> The OS installed just fine, it's just that the CD was so damaged > >> it couldn't install all of the required files.
