There are 20 speakers, positions correspond to the faces of an
icosahedron or the vertices of a dodecahedron. 12 wouldn't work
for 3rd order, you need more speakers than channels.

Since there are 4 more speakers than channels, and this layout is regular,
I'd expect this to work. As it does for 2nd order (12 speakers, faces of a
dedocahedron), or 1st order (8 speakers, vertices of a cube), Or for any
order horizontal only with 2 * (order + 1) speakers. 

I'll send a picture later, don't have them on this PC.
