:-) Absolutely.

My XP system here was initially the most unstable experience I've ever
had with an operating system. Turns out to be the video card, the
drivers for it and the system BIOS. I updated the system BIOS, and
used the latest drivers from MS and haven't had a problem since.

That's NT for you. It can be rock solid once it's properly outfitted
with compatible hardware with good drivers. A bad driver can however
bring it to its knees. If you're getting regular BSOD's with XP, your
problem lies there.
