I've searched these forums and some people have indicated that Inguz works fine on an Atom. I know this contradicts the minimum specs somewhat. I may have to consider the new Tranquil PC or a Mac Mini 2010. aubuti;556790 Wrote: > If you are going to store the library in another room (on a NAS), why > not put the server in that other room as well? Wherever you locate things, aim to > have at least the server connected to the network via ethernet (ie, > wired). If you can wire the Touch as well, all the better. To be honest silent and low powered appeals no matter where the server or NAS is located. As I replied to Phil, I want to wire the server to the Touch because John Swenson has indicated this is a better option for sound quality. > As for storing the music library on the NAS, I think the only > performance hit you would run into is slower library scan times because > it goes over the network instead of being handled locally on the server. > But that shouldn't be a big worry unless you have an absolutely huge > library. That doesn't sound like a show stopper, which is good news. -- badboygolf16v ------------------------------------------------------------------------ badboygolf16v's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19486 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79889 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
