Have you checked in the log file (server.log) for any error messages? Definitely doesn't happen for me on xp or win 7 with 20 minute+ 24/96 files... (of which I have many). You should enable player.streaming logging option=DEBUG (settings - advanced - logging) and then post the relevant part of server.log here. Whatever your problem is, it is unusual/rare and almost certainly something to do with your Windows setup/machine.
