Hi Friedel. Sorry for the delay... getting a hang of this project (WordPress) is a bit tricky.
Since you asked for feedback, here's what I found out: It would appear that the 3 files on Pootle for WordPress are not quite what WordPress is operating off these days. Now i may have gotten this one wrong but Zé's post (http://wppolyglots.wordpress.com/2011/11/17/apologies-for-sort-of-double-posting-i-think/#comment-5367) was fairly illuminating. As far as I can tell, WordPress localization runs mostly via GlotPress these days. There are 6 components: Core (WordPress.com) Multisite (WordPress.com) TwentyTen (WordPress.com) TwentyEleven (WordPress.com) Continents & Cities (WordPress.com) Rosetta (the missing strings for WordPress.org) The files on Pootle don't really seem to match any of those though Zé matched what was matchable to Core. The other things I learned is that these days you can export and import .po files quite easily and/or use the online interface for collaboration. Now please don't take this as gospel because I find the way WordPress runs localization totally confusing but it would seem like WordPress on Pootle either needs updating or ... well, something else. Not knocking Pootle but if WordPress itself runs off 6 .po files and/or via the web interface, there may not be a massive advatage to running the translation of it via Pootle. I'll use the opportunity though to figure out how to update the Gaelic po files on Pootle. Hope that's on use as feedback.
