The full logo has approval from both Canonical and the GNOME foundation and is 
fully legit.
The problem is that the GNOME foundation wont allow us to use the roundel by 
itself, i.e like what you see on the plymouth boot splash screen,
since it looses the context of 'Ubuntu'. This is a particular problem on social 
media sites and what not.
