No more SXCE
No more Sparc-Workstation
No more JumpStart
No more pkgadd

=>>>>so here is my new Sparc-PC:

Sparc-Ultra 45 (used as Server) + Opensolaris Build 133  + Sunray 2FS &
Sunray-Laptop

I burned a CD with the text-based installer image (the automatic installer is
terrible)
based on build 131 from Genunix:
$ wget http://www.genunix.org/dist/caiman/textinstall-131-sparc.iso

updated  to build 133 by:
$ pfexec pkg refresh --full
$ pfexec pkg image-update

Note: Please read the following important Bug:
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=14702
and act accordingly !

I installed Gnome..(+ 2.8GByte of Packages):
$ pfexec pkg install pkg:/redistributable
$ init 6
$ svcadm enable gdm
( for a Bug in ssh enter)
$ pfexec chmod 666 /dev/ptmx

OK now you can have Opensolaris on an Sparc-Workstation (some problems with
mouse and keyboard)
If your Workstation/Server is too noisy and /or you don't like the keyboard
problem,
 I recommend to buy a Ultra Thin Client Sunray 2 or 2FS:

First you must upgrade the X-Server to Build 134 because of Bug 6926250
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6926250
by downloading:
$ wget http://dlc.sun.com/osol/x/downloads/B134/x-pit-134.tar.bz2
and follow the Instruction in README

 I installed SRSS 4.2 (the Sunray Software) following the Instruction:
http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/SRSS_4.1_on_OpenSolaris_2008.11
and
http://chrisgerhard.wordpress.com/tag/sun-ray/
+ solving a sparc only Bug by adding to
/opt/SUNWut/lib/utxsun

> LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRAR_PATH:/usr/lib/xorg/sparcv9
> export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

yes we can ...it's running

soon all Cell phones will have Linux so Opensolaris can only survive on Sparc.
But if nobody uses Opensolaris on Sparc Opensolaris will die in all of this
Bugs.
