Great, take your calculator and compare Citrix Licence cost + Thinclient
cost + remote OS cost + ThinClient Managament tools

Probably, but not Citrix native, certainly a third party HW as usual,
with its own "ThinClient" matrix compatibility matrix, and Card
compatibiltiy matrix ... just adding some complexity

Yes they are. Talk to a trader. Talk to a developper. Talk to a CAD
designer. Talk to someone who is supervising monitor tools.

Yes, and more specifically independant from the Desktop :) that's the
idea of Sun Ray. Buy the way, There is a Citrix Agent Client for
Solaris, compatible with Sun Ray.

Wrong. is there any Think Client built and supported by Citrix including
a card reader ?

Great, you pointed out the weak point of citrix: bandwidth.

Well, there are still people working in offices. The mobile is not
everything. Did you write this post from your mobile ? I dont' know
anyone doing serious software developement from a mobile, nor
reading/writing technical content from a mobile. Sitdown and continue
working.

hello, did you hear about JavaFX. Are you connected to the internet ?

I encourage you to read and understand
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_cost_of_ownership

So, you said it's cheap with 700$ per desktop.
And what about the yearly salary of the team who is managing all that
stuff to deploying/patching/replacing/upgrade ? plus all the
licences/support to upgrade BIOS/EFI ? plus the tools to apply SW
patches ? anti-virus deployment ? security fixes ? integrating new
"motherboards" ? are there in the 700$ ?

This is another story. But don't forget, Open doesn't mean free.
