It was the training in software engineering > principles. +1 but want to add that you learn much more than just programming with a 4 year degree. The statistics / physics courses come in handy and is hard to gain this knowledge outside of a university setting. Layer that with English classes etc etc and you get a very well rounded employee. On the programming side, I found the most value in Assembly language courses even though I haven't touched it since school.
