Wendy, i was actually doing something similar to your suggestion but i was appending the parameters to the action using javascript. i don't know why i didn't think of just putting them in the original link. thanks for that suggestion. Michael, i'm also going to check out your solution on the struts wiki. tthanks for pointing me to that.
