My understanding was that we were going to try and make Wikibooks work
for the following reasons:

1. We had people on the list who were already using Wikibooks and liked
it quite a bit.
2. It uses the Mediawiki wiki engine, which is probably the most
ubiquitous wike engine available.
3. It has proven spam-fighting capabilities
4. The majority of people who had an opinion on the topic seemed to
favor using a Wikibook site.

In the end, I guess you could say that it was the lowest-risk choice.
