Both machines support the portrait display, 640x870. --- J.S. Garrison wrote: >the IIsi goes to 33 megs with two 16's, one meg on board. No, you have to have 4 matching 30-pin SIMMs in the IIsi, so total memory can be 5, 9, 17, 33, or 65M (not to mention the oddball 1, 2, and 3M configs -- yes, I actually have some 512K 30-pin SIMMs!) --- The LCIII has a (usually empty) FPU socket; on the IIsi you get your FPU with the Nubus adapter or the ethernet card. The IIsi has soft power on/off and a switched monitor power port; the LCIII has a hard power switch. You can install an Apple IIe card in an LCIII; there is no similar option for the si. Adapters existed to install the 030/50 Daystar accelerator in both machines. I thought the IIsi had 2 ADB ports, but GURU tells me only 1. The LCIII definitely has just 1. I also thought the IIsi had an external floppy port, but I'm not sure. The LCIII was one of the first Macs that could support a multiscan monitor with on-board video. The multiscan 15 monitor will not work on a stock LC, LCII, or IIsi. -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
