Billy, I am sure Rob appreciates the support he gets from people paying for the Today in iOS app. However, I did buy it and while it is Voiceover accessible, I prefer to listen to the Podcast with Downcast and I don't even have the Today in iOS app installed on my iPhone at this time. Just thought I mention this because even if you like the Podcast it is not really necessary to pay the $2.99 for the app. If you don't have Downcast your $2.99 would give you more if you used them to purchase Downcast.

I will try the podcast, and if I like it. Will purchase the app, Billy -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: 10 June 2014 15:50 To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: iTunes Syncing Advice Sought Hi Billy, If you have a Podcast client such as Downcast you should be able to just search for "Today in iOS". You can also go to "http://www.TodayIn IOS.com" and listen to any of the episodes online. Lastly, if you want to spend $2.99 in support of the Podcast you can buy the "Today in iOS" app and listen to it that way. I f you have the app you get a push notification any time a new episode goes live and Rob also sends out push notifications if there are any breaking Apple news. Today in iOS is definitely a very worthwhile weekly listen for anybody who is interested in iDevices and iOS. Kelly did say one "must" do this which is not strictly true, but one proponent of this for example is Rob from the Today in iOS Podcast. Whenever he does mention this he usually says that most of the time upgrading goes OK without doing this, but that the likelihood that something might go wrong is much greater if you don't do this. I would agree with this, I have seen way too many upgrades from friends or acquaintances result in problems of various severity and whenever this happens and I asked if they at least force quit all apps and maybe did a restart of the device they said no, they just went ahead and started the update process. In my opinion it is reasonable that fewer problems occur if you do this. iOS may be better than other platforms in this respect, but it's not perfect and apps can use resources or access processes which may interfere with an update and I don't see why I should take this risk if 2 easy steps may avoid it. Why would this be necessary, or how would this step make for a better backup? <Smile>. The end user needs to force quit all apps and reset network settings so no apps are using the device's antennas.
