Ben, please. This is pure hyperbolic nonsense. You'll have to define what
'the simplest tasks of modern computing' are which the Amiga cannot do, and no
matter what you say, you'll be wrong. The Amiga may fall short in many areas,
but it can certainly manage 'the simplest tasks' and lots more. And if you
have a Toaster/Flyer, you can pretty much still outdo anything under $20,000
on the mainstream systems, though this will change when the Video Toaster NT
is released in June. So in the future, please try to avoid huge
generalizations.

I'm OK with Windows. My PC is set up as a gaming machine. BeOS won't support
all my hardware. As a gamer I'll also need to change my hardware fairly
often, so handholding BeOS isn't an option for me. I ran BeOS on the Mac before
(up to R3) and while it was
nice, it wasn't as nice (to me) as AmigaOS and certainly it's still lacking in
software. Linux is an option worth looking at, though.
