You are correct and incorrect, depending upon what you need to accomplish.
For me, I need some degree of compatibility with most of the rest of the
world.
That, unfortunately, means being able to run MS software.  I don't have to
like
this fact. I just have to deal with it.  I will be eventually installing
Linux on both
my PC and my Amiga.  There are, in fact, some things I would like to do
which are
possible with unix and not with either Win98 or AmigaOS.
