There are various groups following several in key-in methods - outside wikipedia. I am considering outside wikipedia - as target audience for this requested change is new users who would contribute to wikipedia - assuming they will find key-in method simple. Thus, it is very subjective. Those who are writing blogs, on privately owned websites or on facebook - they ARE using one of several methods to key-in text either - available on those websites, or via desktop applications or via browser plugins, toolbars, bookmarklets etc. I believe people will contribute (if its just a matter of ease of typing in Marathi) if they adhere to standard keyboard all of them OR they are given an option to what they are already used to.
