OK and for future reference if you need to pick up a new generation of 
hamlib then the recipe is:

cd ~/hamlib_g4wjs/src
git pull
cd ../build
make
make install

... and then, in the JTSDK-QT environment CMD shell:

build wsjtx rinstall
build wsjtx package
