I have the aforementioned roms, but I'm not in a real big hurry to keep xmame actively patched, as the games aren't really that good, and they'll stay nice and safe on my drive until mame supports them proper.
Not desperately on the subject of this thread, but seeing that comment just reminded me of a little gripe i had - and no, i don't want those roms :)
What is the mame teams policy with regards to the roms that get submitted then?
I once submitted some roms for a game that i'd come by (Lady Bug on Galaxian hardware if it matters). I wasn't able to mod the driver myself at the time, so i passed the rom images to one of the three or four mame developers that i have dealings with and he modded the driver and submitted it accordingly.
Lo and behold, within days, the roms were freely available for download from mame.dk. The guy i trusted with submitting them didn't put them there, so who on earth did? That really got my back up at the time. The mame team are meant to be all about not pirating the games for the sake of it, and as you say, preserving the hardware in emulation (which is why i'm here so i can get help with the real hardware via mame when i need it), but one or more rom sites, must have direct access to some dev server(s) somewhere!
Now, i've just recently added a CKong bootleg (with radically different levels) to the driver, and again passed it on to one of the active developers as i'm not a registered developer or anything like that (i assume it will be submitted either in 0.79 or the next version), so will that miraculously appear on the download sites too?
If it does then it'll be the last rom dump i ever bother to submit as this time i expressly said i have no problem submitting the driver changes and the roms, but NOT to have the roms distributed!
Just curious if anyone has any kind of answers as to how this happened for me?
