maybe it's a paid-only feature, but in my view of Fastmail on the

You're right, the full header link is there - I just didn't notice it.

Looking through the timestamps, there does appear to be delays but the

One thing you might want to try - send a reply/followup from your
second Fastmail account.

It's possible that Fastmail supresses copies of mail it thinks it
has already seen (which could include messages it originated).
If that's the case, a message sent from the second account would
show up in the inbox for the first account, but not in the inbox
for the second account.

Thanks, John - I actually already tried that and the message didn't show

However... this morning all of the missing mail from yesterday had

Since mail is being received in the second account OK, I could just use

i suspect an intermediate server is delaying the emails; check the raw headers

i moved from a local ISP to a paid fastmail account about six months ago and
i'm very happy with it; i chose fastmail after a fairly extensive search; i
have a detailed script that filters all my email into folders on the server
side (meaning filtering happens regardless of what client i use), copies some
to another account, and applies Thunderbird labels to some; works great; it can
take 15 minutes for the server-side forwarding (which may also include the
polling delay on the other account), but the rest has been very solid

account I use is 120 MB. Can 100-120 PDML messages a day reach that?

i suspect an intermediate server is delaying the emails; check the
raw headers ? there should be a time stamp at each server; do you
notice any big gaps in the timestamps (on the messages that were
delayed)?

I'm using Fastmail via the web interface so I can't see any headers.

i moved from a local ISP to a paid fastmail account about six months
ago and i'm very happy with it; i chose fastmail after a fairly
extensive search; i have a detailed script that filters all my email
into folders on the server side (meaning filtering happens
regardless of what client i use), copies some to another account,
and applies Thunderbird labels to some; works great; it can take 15
minutes for the server-side forwarding (which may also include the
polling delay on the other account), but the rest has been very solid

Fastmail has served me well for the last 3 or 4 years so I'm a bit
bemused about this problem. I'll see what their support says but as I
own lyons-ryan.org and haven't used any of the available email
addresses there, I might just stick to it from now on.

I just noticed your reply in the archives. Thanks. I'm still not

It's now the middle of the night in North America so I don't anticipate

I'm not showing anything untoward on my end. Usually when this happens,
it's that the ISP (or delivery service) has implemented something

But again, I'm not showing a bounce score for you at all, so it's going

One thing you might want to try - send a reply/followup from your
second Fastmail account.

It's possible that Fastmail supresses copies of mail it thinks it
has already seen (which could include messages it originated).
If that's the case, a message sent from the second account would

Thanks, John - I actually already tried that and the message didn't show
up in the first account.

However... this morning all of the missing mail from yesterday had
appeared in the first account, starting just after midnight and
finishing at 2:15 AM.

But... the first account then immediately went into another sulk and
hasn't received any new mail since.

Since mail is being received in the second account OK, I could just use
it from now on but I have some special folders set up in the first where
I store useful info permanently, so I'd like to sort out this problem.

Looks like I need to talk to Fastmail support.

It's odd that it's just PDML mail that's affected.

testing, testing?

2004-08-26 Thread frank theriault
I tried unsubbing from my YahooMail account, then re-subbing, and I got no
response from either request.

I tried sending an e-mail from my Hotmail account to my Yahoo account, and
it was received just fine. Same thing with sending an e-mail from Yahoo to
Hotmail - no probs.

So, just to see what would happen, I subbed from this (hotmail) account, and
I got a confirmation almost immediately.

So, I guess I'll be subbed on my old Hotmail account for a bit. Only
problem is that I've only got 2 megs of space on Hotmail. which is really
not enought - my inbox fills if I'm away for more than a couple of days -
and if some idiot sends me an e-mail with a huge attachment, I'm screwed.

So, I want to be subbed on Yahoo, but it's just not working right now...
Sigh...
Anyway, we'll see if this sub works, and take it from there.
cheers,
frank

I commented on a number of Paw's at lunch and only 1 showed up so far. Could be
negative
ions in the
air today.,lol

Dave

I tried unsubbing from my YahooMail account,
then re-subbing, and I got
n o
 response from either request.

I tried sending an e-mail from my Hotmail account to my Yahoo account,
an d
it was received just fine. Same thing with sending an e-mail from Yahoo
 to
 Hotmail - no probs.

So, just to see what would happen, I subbed from this (hotmail) account,
 and
I got a confirmation almost immediately.

So, I guess I'll be subbed on my old Hotmail account for a bit. Only
problem is that I've only got 2 megs of space on Hotmail. which is
really
not enought - my inbox fills if I'm away for more than a couple of days
-
and if some idiot sends me an e-mail with a huge attachment, I'm screwed.
