Today, I tried registering with IRCTC app for the first time. Registration was
impossible because the site shows different in different browsers. While MS
edge showed the correct fields, the captcha was a huge problem since it did
not refresh. I tried the same on the IOS app, which kept displaying some
error message.

Overall, very disappointing. This is such an important service and I
basically wanted to take full control of my train ticketing process and all I
found was a huge barrier.

This website and the app is a disappointment.

Regards,

affidavit

Thanks Bhawani, this is very helpful.

No issues with the OTP at login any longer, right? Though the affidavit is
dated mid April and the thread
<https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg150826.html>
indicates resolution only in June.

If you have any past representations sent to IRCTC regarding issues that are
still not resolved, please forward them to me.

Hello Vaishnavi,

I am a frequent train traveler, usually once or twice a month, and I regularly
book my concession tickets through the IRCTC website. I would like to share a
few accessibility concerns that need attention:

1. Station Selection (From–To Box):
While searching for trains, the station selection box is accessible only to
advanced screen reader users. It does not appear as a combo box; instead, it
functions as a list box, requiring us to press Enter on the station name.
2. Train List Display:
The list of available trains should ideally be presented in a table format.
At present, we must navigate using arrow keys, which is cumbersome and less
efficient.
3. Class Selection:
The list of travel classes is not accessible. Advanced users can manage by
pressing the Space Bar or Enter, but the options do not appear as buttons,
checkboxes, or a proper combo box.
4. Final Payment Page:
The payment page is not accessible. Currently, we must press on a graphic
element to proceed. The selection of payment modes should be provided in a
radio button or combo box format for better accessibility.
5. UPI Payment Option:
Earlier, while making payments through UPI, there was an edit box to type
the virtual address. This option has now been removed, which limits
accessibility and flexibility for users.

Thanks,

Bhawani
