Key is the subject line so they open it. I delete a lot without even looking at it. But since it is basically free to do, then no harm in doing it (unless you’re afraid of your domain being blacklisted). If I sent a brief note to several thousand people saying something like: Dear (Spam Target): Thanks for attending Animal Farm.Wispapalloza/ etc etc. I have a new catalog (available here url pdf etc).
