Of course. If you're buying a used routing platform and don't educate
yourself on the generations of fabric and line cards, you are in for a bad
time.

Eg: know before buying what you can and cannot do with 6700-series cards in
a 6509e, or the difference between a t640 fpc2 vs FPC3. Or the multiple
generations of cards for the asr9006/9010.
