Gary, Werner is incorrect. The City Council is doing exactly what
the people of Asbury Park want (focusing on a year round residential
economy).

This plan was very openly negotiated for more than a year, and the
Council and the Master Developer met with any person from Asbury who
asked for a meeting with them during that time, and many of them had
their desires incorporated into the plan.

For further confirmation that the people of AP want the plan, note
that the 4 incumbents came under VERY HEAVY fire by 15 challengers
in May. The issue of whether this plan needed to change direction
was vetted daily by all of them, in advertisements, door knocking
walks, on the radio, in literature, etc. The incumbents were
overwhelmingly voted back in.

There is no better proof than that to show the people of AP want
this plan. That's not to say that there aren't good Asbury Parkers
like yourself that disagree, but certainly the election results are
the best indicator of what the people as a group want.
