My impression is that the situation with MM is very fluid. They are trying to appeal to tenants that have a proven track record and who are willing to operate year round on the boardwalk, not easy. That being said, it is difficult for MM to commit to statements about things to come when they are not 100% sure if and when they are coming. I am sure if they had an anchor tenant for the casino willing to pay top $$ in rent and participate in build out costs, contruction could start immediatly. I also feel the group may be jumping the gun on the bandshell.
How do you make promises on when "things" will be completed in this economic environment when deals are still being negotiated or talks have not even started? These guys are not magicians.....this takes time and everyone should be patient. This is all about both sides acting in good faith, recognizing where mistakes have been made, and being flexible enough to work through the issues at hand.
