Aw Prosenjit, I was just being sarcastic :-).

BTW, why are not the 'dog-eating' or 'cannibal tribals' Umesh allude to not our brethren? Are 'pure vegetarians' from the NW or the South of the Indian sub-continent our real brethren? And why is eating deep fried Muga larvae ( muga leta) such an uncivilized thing that we are afraid to confront it when waved at us by Hindu zealots ? Is not rth Indian incest more acceptable? Or is treating Dalits like they do in Tamil Nadu more acceptable?

Also WHO are the 'cannibals' you agree with Umesh on? I have heard a lot of things, read a lot too, but Assamese cannibals or Bengali or NE cannibals I missed. Who are those? Where were they from, if they do not exist any more?

Am i trying to give him a hard time. Umesh knows what he is upto. Pls
don't feed him with your logics which are going absurd day by day. I
was just trying to caution him from distractions like discussions of
eating beef and banning it. If he thinks (or you think) banning cow
slaughter is what hindutwa is he is wrong. Hindutwa is far more than
that. And you mislead him with that saying that a noble goal.

Now all know the truth about cannibals in NE. I have many friends
whose forefathers were such. And if you think they still do that, you
are in a different world. And also pls tell me from when they had
become your brothers ? Are they really. Do you see them the way they
need to be.

I don't discourage Umesh in his aims. But would sure like to caution
him from minds like yours who aim to entangle people with linguistic
skills (which I aprreciate) and mislead them.

Now you may put me on trial ? But I will rufuse to accept it. Is that
fair enough ?

 Hi Prasenjit:

Umesh is only saying things that are/were true. That some of our
brethren in the NE are cannibals or eat dogs. Obviously the
movie-maker Mani-what's-his-name was only talking about unpleasant
truths in the now banned film, Tango Charlie, because he portrayed
 Bodos as cannibals.

Can't you handle the truth? Why are you trying to divert attention
 away from them cannibal, dog-eating, head-hunting, loin-cloth
sporting tribals who prefer that damned Christianity over Umesh's
Hinduism? He hasn't labeled YOU a trial yet, has he? Besides, what is
 wrong in that label anyway?

Umesh came to Assam Net to show you and me what civilization is all
about. He realizes we , north-easterners, are like what we are
because Hinduttwa never touched us. So he came to propagate the Hindu
identity and Hinduttwa as he sees it, with the zeal of a Christian
Missionary, who has been so successful in winning the NE over to them
X-ians. He realized that we are disaffected because we were treated
like dogs in a Hindu household. So he has been trying to let us into
their Hinduttwa home. His is a noble goal. Don't give him a hard time.

Umesh has told us it is perfectly OK to eat human corpses, or dogs,
or crickets, or snakes. Why should we feel defensive about it? He
does not feel defensive about the culture of those who suck the blood
of live people ( I mean metaphorically), or dowry burning, or
sati-daah, or public corruption, or religious intolerance. He is
always saying all those nice things of Dalits, even wants Mira Nair
to make movies about them instead of making movies that put their
culture in a bad light as in Monsoon Wedding. Imagine she had to go
show family incest, and pre-marital sex and desi-hypocrisy, How
 shameless!
