For all my translations, I prefer working locally (offline) and use
OmegaT, Poedit and Notepad++. In a nutshell, OmegaT is a free
translation memory tool, similar to Poedit, but supports much more file
formats, not only .po or .xliff. Using that kind of tool allows you to
benefit from professional features, especially reusing translation
memories (TM) from a translation project to another one.
When the translations are stored on localization management tools, such
as Crowdin, Transifex or Weblate, as long as they offer /Download /and
/Upload /functions, there is no problem to work online.
Last but not least: OmegaT, Poedit and Notepad++ are all open-source
software and translated in Corsican ;-)

I almost never use offline tools, but when I do, I use PoEdit,

Hello there,
I like weblate, the interface is clean and useful, a translation
memory system that works like a charm and the zen mode helps me
translate dozens of similar strings at the same time.
I usually import the files into an Oracle cloud instance that runs
weblate and translate everything there.
Sometimes I download the PO file and see if it's working in
Poedit, but 99% of my translations are made by weblate.

Hi,
I do use Lokalize for all my translations because of its good
translation
memory, LanguageTool and pology integration, glossary, and
marvelous filtering
and project management capabilities.
