@9 You have helped a lot of people on this site, even me sometimes. Keep on doing what you do. You are a valued person on this forum and perhaps elsewhere.
@10 Those are interesting ways to look at it. I realize my question wasn't clear, not even to me, but I think you answered the right one in the right way. And I like the computer vs. human brain comparison. I wish we did have that so we can correctly identify the past and help with the present and/or future. But always having access to traumatic memories would be a huge backlash, so I'm also glad we don't have that ability.
