How can the output be "free of jitter"?  That's nonsensical.  

Bit errors simply aren't an issue with a decent CD player and a CD in
reasonable condition.  I get perfect rips nearly all of the time on a
new disc, and most of the time on a lightly scratched one, with $30
CD-ROM drives and little or no re-reading.  If there is an audible
difference it has to do with jitter or the analogue stage, not with the
digital data.

And if you're worried about errors in the SB RAM, those happen in CD
players too (since they all buffer the data before playing it out). 
I'd be surprised if there isn't internal error checking in the SB which
eliminates that; there certainly is in a computer (where even single bit
errors are extremely uncommon).
