Whenever you play anything you get a resulting "sound" but my aim is to make this sound the sound of the recording. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to play the sound of real things through a hi-fi, just recordings. This is why accuracy and transparency doesn't always sound the "nicest" and the most "realistic sounding" - although my impression is that accuracy is never unpleasant. It's a matter of taste whether accuracy or making most of your recordings "sound better" makes a better system. If you want more accurate equipment it does exist - the question is whether you want it. It's perfectly valid not to.
