legal action against Air Services???
yes, of course it was a smart arse response! :)
It was a good way of me introducing myself, letting
people know we shouldn't be overly serious (or personal) and we are all
here to have fun after all, and flying is what it is all
about.
And to let people on the list know I am quite happy to
keep them up to date with what's happening in our GFA and also to take their
comments back to the Exec as well.
As long as it's all constructive, then I am all for the
best communication possible between the GFA and it's
members.
In the past I have certainly been critical of the
apparent distance between the members and the GFA, and now that I can do
something about it, I will.
cheers
David
this is this type of smart arse response that will engender a deep
love of the gfa council. i would like to know what was happening at the
gfa level. firstly after reading the annual financial report why is the
rate of return on the funds invested so appallingly low?? any club which is
waiting for the gfa to kickstart their operation is kidding themselves. i
don't believe this is their job. rob izatt

Robert
You may remember me from Waikerie; hoping to see you at
Waikerie this January as well, with Alice this time. Should be a good
show.
Well, on the weekend I managed to appoint myself as GFA
Executive Vice President, of course only for my own self-serving and
lunatic agenda.
I am prepared however to be involved in discussions
on this list and keep you up to date with what "the GFA" is scheming and
plotting to your detriment, and likewise if you have any issues that you
would like taken direct to the GFA Executive, then please by all means
let me know and I promise to ignore them. :)
I can give you an
update on the airspace shortly when the facts are all
to hand.
Cheers

taking legal action against Air Services???
Hi
I am told that
the GFA is taking legal action against Air Services Australia over the
airspace rollback.
I am absolutely flabbergasted by this as it has
been my understanding that in the past we have been able to negotiate the
issues that arose as a result of changes. There were many of these when
the new airspace system was brought in last year and I am not aware of
any that were unresolved through negotiation.
Now it appears that
the GFA is wasting our money in a legal action against Air Services -
which has access to legal and financial resources that will swamp
us.
What is the purpose of the legal action? What do we stand to win
- and just how likely is it that we can win?
Is the GFA executive
deliberately trying to squander our resources - those resources that they
repeatedly refuse to use for the real benefit of the gliding community?
Have they reached such levels of arrogance that they really believe, not
only that they are right, but they can win such a battle?
I doubt
that we will hear anything about this from the
self-appointed, self-serving lunatics currently at the helm of the GFA;
until, that is, we are faced with a financial statement showing hundreds
of thousands of dollars of OUR money spent on legal fees - for zero
result (or worse).
However, I know that this list is 'monitored' by
the GFA cabal - so how about doing something completely different and
actually tell us, the membership to whom you have duties, obligations and
responsibilities, what you are doing and why.
And I don't mean the
empty clap trap you decided to publish in the last two magazines when
suddenly faced with a credible opposition to your cosy re-election of one
another. We are currently being fed enough such bullshit by the
professional politicians without it invading our recreation.
We are
big boys and girls: how about telling us the truth, the whole truth and
nothing but the truth - for a change?
