Can I ask why you say "COLLADA should never ever be used in the first
place..."?

I'm just curious - I use newtek's lightwave, and they seem to be moving TO
collada for scene files, and I was looking to move to collada for any
animated objects in the future.

Don
Have a great day

@Arkadianen:

A pre-release version of Away4 will be released alongside the public
pre-release of Molehill. Adobe has yet to announce an official date
for such a release, but we will be ready to release our code on the
same day, whenever that is.

An AWD plug-in for 3dsmax will likely not appear for another couple of
months.

COLLADA will be supported in Away4, but not by the time we publish the
pre-release code. Other formats will though, like OBJ, AWD1 (the
legacy ascii version) and probably 3DS as well. Please use these
instead (like I've said, COLLADA should never ever be used in the
first place if one can avoid it.)

Cheers
/R
