Pierre, I encourage you to finish what you've started first: cleanup kernel patches, and submit them to CVS. Otherwise, you risk to fall in the same trap lots of ports has fallen during the last several years. Making a complete Linux system for handheld is titanic work and no single man can do it. But it's very tempting and that's the reason why after so many years of work, there're only 2 ports based on not outdated kernel and running well enough to call them "production" - iPaqs hx4700 and h2200. And don't trust me - trust JeDi, I guess he's message is pretty insightful regarding this - if many things worked half-year ago, and don't work now, and it's hard to remember details, something needs to be changed in process. That's exactly why we have common CVS (ah sorry, migration to something more nice is in queue ;-)) for all ports and contributors to cooperate, and ease maintenance burden. Regarding userspace, I second suggestions to use OpenEmbedded. It is indeed provides distributions suitable for handhelds (both in terms of functionality and size), it already supports whole bunch of PocketPCs, and it is easy to add new - both technically and organizationally. > Pierre -- Best regards, Paul mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- _______________________________________________ Aximx50-port mailing list [email protected] https://www.handhelds.org/mailman/listinfo/aximx50-port
