I feel like I'm feeding the troll here, but anyway...

First point, is that the tone of the original message was lame. Someone
who's been using computers long enough to have sent BB hundreds of
dollars should know that a BB mailing list is bound to be full of dirty
fanboys who will only respond with anger to this kind of email.

Second point is, if you don't like the behavior, try suggesting a
positive alternative. It has been rehashed endlessly on this list and
elsewhere that the way to convince developers to change an app's
behavior is to first explain how the change would help you ( a loyal
user ) and be offer proactive, constructive alternatives. Just bitching
about it is bound to polarize the argument, end up with no one
satisfied, and do nothing to improve anyone's life.

In the time spent composing long ranting emails, you surely could have
walked to the other computer in your house and quit BBEdit.

apparently you have not been buying a large ticket item at a retail
store lately, because the experience is remarkably similar to being
frisked upon exit.
