There is some odd language issue here...

Hosting = storing, indexing, etc...  like hosting a web site....
last.fm does this.

Playing = output.. they can send you streams as either part of a
recommended station, neighbor station, etc, or you can (from the
website) choose to play an individual track...

How on earth is that different from MySpace Music?  (Except that
MySpace Music does not offer the streams...)
