What would be the point of a side scroller game in which you could walk around an acid pit rather than having to jump over it? If you could merely walk around obstacles, the game would never be purchased. There would be no challenge to it. This is the whole point of Monty. Play Monkey Business if you want 3D. Play Monty if you don't. But don't make a game in which you can do both. It would obviously kill the game.
