I don't think it is so much a matter of the size of the container, more
like
a) Draught beer is more sensitive to excessive carbonation, overdoing
it will produce only foam.
b) Since draught beer is dispensed with the help of bottled CO2, it is
always possible to add some more of it when need be.
c) Bottles are usually emptied immediately after opening, whereas kegs
start with very little airspace, and end up with a lot of it -
regular amount of CO2 would produce overpressure in the beginning
and flat beer at the end. Pumping beer out with CO2 helps to this,
or course.
