No one proposed a better translation even Nafaa who promised do so in the CC Arab world meeting that was held in Doha last year, and he failed to do so until now. Al Jazeera senior Arabic translator was advised of the translation and find it appropriate. I am not sure what do you mean that it is not adopted in the Tunisian context? Is this based on a particular provision in the civil law of Tunis or the the intellectual property system (copyright law) applicable in Tunisia? There is no special context here as the original word 'Commons' is English and most CC jurisdictions have tried either to translate the word to the local language or translated the word as it is in English. We will do both not to cause confusion to the original term. Once the Jordanian license is approved by CC, it will be the first Arabic license and users are free to adopt it or use another one as they may deem appropriate. I think translation should be done soon and there is no need to wait for a particular law to come as this will take long time and laws change from time to time. If the law has changed then there should be another version of the license based on the new law. Versioning is well recognized in CC.
