Exactly!.... However I never had a greyhound get excited.
Don't think I want to either. :-)

Actually, our motivator is usefulness

We have 2 large dogs (Greyhounds) and 1 small dog (Italian Greyhound),
plus we have 2 people staying with us at the moment as guests

On the weekend we went camping up to the lake in out 91 Explorer - 3
dogs and 4 people, plus all of the luggage

If we had a little car, then we would have needed 3 of them to get
everything up to the campsite

What is more fuel economic - 1 SUV fully loaded doing 18-20mpg or 3
cars fully loaded doing 30mpg? An hour's drive, I think the SUV
out-ranks the cars with ease

Since we only use the truck rarely as we buy in bulk, the shopping
trip usually loads the truck up to the limit - again, we'd need 2+
cars to make the trip, or go several times - so the fuel economy line
goes out of the window again

I agree that people in the city who have large SUVs for nothing apart
from ego just need a slap, but there are some of us who use a SUV
because for us it's more economic

BTW, have you ever had a greyhound with it's boney tail in the back
seat of a car and decide it's happy, so it wags it's tail across the
back of your head? It's not an experience I want to have again
