All too true. Its far easier to have your thoughts and beliefs handed down
from on high than working them out for yourself. Moreover when schools have
tried to include sections on critical thinking the school boards have been
deluged with angry parents parroting what semi-educated fundimentalist
essentially told them to say from in the pulpit that I've been more than a
bit disgusted. A wonderful example are the reoccurring debates regarding
teaching evolutionary theory in the schools, and attempts to get schools to
teach creationism.
