I read about it in both the WSJ and Fortune, but I don't have a link. sorry! The person I mentioned isn't married, but is a lesbian who's had a partner for 20+ years. They're very settled in their home (it is nice) and her partner is a school teacher with union tenure. While they considered moving, they decided that giving up everything for a job that may require backstabbing and that she might not like just wouldn't be worth it when she can kick back where she is as a director. I know about 20 women (incl minorities) in this position that have made the same decision. To be fair, I know many men that've made the same decision for the same reasons including myself! In fact my wife works out of a different city than we live so we have an apartment there and she flys around as needed.
