I don't disagree.  What I'm saying is that if you want to improve the
rankings for an existing site and are considering adding a blog, it will be
better off as a folder on the main domain rather than as a sub-domain OR its
own domain.  I'd be hard-pressed to put a blog on a sub-domain, so you're
preaching to the quire on that front.  I do not agree that putting a blog
related to a business on its own domain is better SEO for the primary site
than simply integrating it into the site itself, however.
