Ford Mondeo is a very decent car. Go for it.
One of the more popular cars in Britain as a matter of fact.
Roomy and comfortable. We rented one a couple of times.
And you are right, that money is MUCH better spent on pints. ;)

That's the kind of experience we're looking for. We've also decided we
probably don't need a sports car if we can't drive that fast + we found
out
how much a Jaguar would run for a week ($1,000 + mileage) and decided
that
money was better spent on pints :) So, with that in mind, are the Ford
Mondeo or Vauxhall Corsa decent cars. We've found rates that would put
them
at $300 to $400 unlimited mileage for 8 days. I can't tell much from
the
pictures and I don't want to find out that we've rented the "European
Yugo"
:)
