My car (hyundai) has a cigarette lighter in the trunk for some reason and the WRT54G (I think) runs on 12V. Minus any type of power conditioning I might do, it should run straight from that.
I just noticed I bought a V5, so I'm going to return it, try to find a V4 or lower and power it up next week. I'll keep you guys posted. I'm just going to start with the WRT. If it's stable enough, I'll use it to connect with my PDA. In stages, I'll add some sort of computer (maybe a tablet with embedded os?).
