Commercially availiable usually means money and also you don't get to
design and build it from scratch. That's no fun.Temperature around here
doesn't drop too low and with the wrt54g running in the box it should
keep it'self warm. As for heat, I have no clue.

He mentioned a few different devices so i figured he'd be throwing a pc
or laptop in there. Leaving a small device on in my car for about 3
hours usually drops the battery voltage below 12v. I don't know too
much about newer vehicle's battery life. I do know that de-charging and
re-charging your battery pretty often can cause dead cells. I don't
know what they are exactly, however. WRT54G runs off 12V 1 AMP. 12
watts. not bad.

MUCH lower, considering it's only 5 inches. 7.5V 3 Amps. 22.5 watts.
Requires a VGA mod (soldering) and you can find them for about 40 bucks
on ebay. And if you're lucky, 30 bucks :)

Power hog IS the processer and the video card I get it running after it
sits or when i'm going about 55 on the highway. Underclocked 9800 and
underclocked amd athlon 2600+ on a deluxe motherboard. WAY more power
than I need, but I haven't gotten my hands on a mb old enough to fit
the old old matrox g100 or g200 cards I have that work with the PSone
LCD.

I will not be spending any money on this shitbox :) I might give them a
call and ask about how alternators perform after 16 years of use.
