Yes.

Not really.  JIS and SJIS are both an input character encoding, while
DNP is a font layout.  So those character encodings are not converted
but JIS and SJIS are mapped onto DNP.

No, the Wadalab PFB files contain the JIS character *set*, but the
(font layout) encoding is DNP.
