The saga continues, but I've reached"detente" with my ibook. By leaving BAD enough alone, I've managed toget probes that were small enough to move--yet not extract-- theheadphone plug that is still lodged in the jack.
What part of the headphone plug is exposed? By exposed, I do not mean sticking out of the jack, for if it were, it would be easy to extract. What part can be touched by a probe? Is the part that can be touched made of metal or plastic? If metal, I am thinking that you could take some metal wire, even perhaps a straightened paper clip, solder a small "blob" of electrical solder to the end, touch the "blobbed" end of the metal wire to the metal of the plug, heat the wire with a soldering iron to cause the blob of solder to melt to and adhere to the metal of the plug, let it set, and then see if you can pull the plug out.
