instituted its own "law of return" in 1954, according citizenship to all
former residents of Palestine, except for Jews.19
How interesting. Were their Jews who wished to become citizens of Jordan? Prudy
Jordan, remember, was just as much Palestine as Israel was. The only reason Palestine was divided (and Jordan created) was to create a line beyond which Jews were not permitted to live. Nice open-minded people I know.
So there are many Holy sites, and biblical areas across Jordan. Until they were expelled to west of the Jordan, there were Jews living there for many generations. I assume they, or their descendants, at the very least might want to live there.
Let’s not forget the British, who could have called Jordan “Palestine” and let Palestinians rule the area, instead gave it to a Saudi Arabian family, who helped them fight the Turks.
